Anthracene, also known as scintillating crystals, is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon with three rings.Solid pahs consisting of triphenyl dielectric. The centers of the three rings of anthracene lie in a straight line and are the isomers of phenanthrene.Anthracene is a colorless flake crystal.Blue and purple fluorescence.

Anthracene  is also named as Paranaphtalene; Anthraxcene; Green oil.In industry, crude anthracene was separated from anthracene oil fractions obtained from coal tar fractionation by crystallization and then purified by sublimation.Insoluble in water, insoluble in ethanol and ether, more soluble in hot benzene.Used as a luminescent material, especially as a coating.

Anthracene has been supplying from UCHEM in large quantity with competitive price.
