Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a very rare lethal neurological degeneration disease, so far there is no effective treatment. In recent years, developed countries in Europe and the United States using genome-wide association analysis has found a number of susceptible genes of the disease, but because of the European and American racial and Asian racial differences, the same disease may be susceptible gene differences. Professor Wang Kai and so on relying on the Anhui Medical University Department of Dermatology Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education gene sequencing platform and advanced bio-information technology, in the Natural Science Foundation of major research projects funded by the use of genome-wide association analysis, which lasted more than 3 years Time, the susceptibility genes of ALS were screened for the first time, and two susceptible genes, SUSD2 and CAMK1G, which were closely related to the pathogenesis were found, and the heterogeneity of susceptible genes in Chinese and western ALS population was confirmed.
It is the key to explore the effective treatment of neurodegenerative diseases by understanding the susceptible genes of ALS disease and expounding its pathogenesis. This study provides a useful basis for the next study of protein function and zoological model, which provides a new opportunity for exploring the pathogenesis of the disease, laying a foundation for disease early warning, clinical diagnosis and new drug development.
